Edge of a Circle is a Swedish metal band from Malmö. The band was formed by Andreas Mårtensson, David Eriksson and Sebastian Berglund. With a vision about merging their different musical backgrounds into its own style, they experimented with lots of different nuances until Edge of a Circle’s overarching sound took form. The basis is metal, but they decided early on that the only stylistic limit would be the musical taste of the members. Edge of a Circle is a melting pot of music, feelings and personalities. With the addition of Robert Nilsson and Linus Abrahamson, further diversity and talent became part of the Circle. 2013 marked the group’s first official release with their eponymous EP ”Edge of a Circle”. The 5 track EP received great reviews and the included song ”Bits and Pieces” got significant rotation on Spotify’s progressive metal playlist with over 160 000 followers. In 2014 the band went on a hiatus after Linus’s departure, and the remaining members touring with various bands and pursuing other musical journeys. In 2019 Edge of a Circle finally reunited and they are set to release new songs within the year. The new songs will build upon the big arena sound of the 2013 EP, but will explore the edges of their musical spectrum even further. The softer parts will be softer, the heavier parts will be heavier, and a greater emphasis will be put on the vocal arrangements. Above all, Edge of a Circle will continue to provide something for everyone.
