Biography
An original innovator of the Soundcloud wave scene, MYRNE (pronounced mern) is an artist, producer, and songwriter from Singapore. He initially gained notoriety for his high-energy originals and remixes, culminating in a debut on Mad Decent in 2015. MYRNE saw a variety of support from tastemakers and industry titans alike - with Diplo, The Chainsmokers, and Porter Robinson among his list of fans. With his classically-trained background, MYRNE is also a prolific producer bridging the spheres of dance and pop - with production credits on records by RL Grime, Jai Wolf, & Gentle Bones. In addition to sold-out home crowds, MYRNE has an impressive history of international live shows; In 2018, MYRNE was the first Singaporean act to play at dance festivals Ultra Miami, Tomorrowland, and Hard Summer. Following his 2019 debut album ‘In Search Of Solitude’, which completed MYRNE’s adventures into cinematic electronica and high-energy future bass, he released his Wandering EP in 2020 with the lead track Splinter (with salem ilese). MYRNE's music in 2023 presented a marked shift in direction and output. It’s house; it’s trance; it’s progressive. Above all, elements of his prior melodic forays intertwine seamlessly with his anthemic club rhythms. “Essentially, Avicii got me into music,” says MYRNE, smoking a comically large cigar. “It only felt right to return to those roots, to explore emotion and nostalgia with my own textured flair." He is currently signed to Astralwerks. 🔳
