Biography

The self-proclaimed "trash-can-pop" of Raleigh, NC's energetic upstarts, GHOSTT BLLONDE, has now graduated into a healthy serving of Gutter-Glam. Reeling from the momentum of their boisterous 2013 debut, “Trashpop//Doomwop”, the quartet steadily churned out a series of thoughtful singles that proved the group to be eager to explore any delightful mess they could create. For their latest full-length LP "Birthday Party", GHOSTT BLLONDE once more tightens up their dynamics as a parade of thrashing crooners evolving their sound from an initial splash of retro-ruckus into a hypnotic dose of syncopation and fun. Strutting basslines bounce with confidence to anchor the scuzz of tight guitars making space for frontman, Marc Kuzio to deliver spastic belts of confusion and identity crisis. The record recalls influence of the band’s former home and local house show sanctuary, The Mattress Fort. Following the pseudo-venu’s demise, Kuzio found his identity lost without the anchor of a constant party to disguise his anxieties. This led to the building of “The Echo Lounge” where the group was free to make believe any sonic scenario. “Birthday Party” is the first of many experiments in this new space, with this album channeling a disco-fied mix of wannabe-pop-star deep cuts that explores acceptance in uncertainty Occasionally edging towards mania, rounded production yields proper perspective and solidifies GHOSTT BLLONDE as a self aware train of energy and positivity.
