JC Ronato is an independent Filipino singer-songwriter currently residing in Baguio City, Philippines. He has been writing music since 2010. His debut single Liwanag was released on March 31, 2021 which is about trusting in Godʼs word and promise in a season of uncertainty. He began writing the song in early October 2019 until its completion in January 2020. On March 7, 2020, he recorded the song at Open Heaven Recording Studio, collaborating with producer Shadiel Chan, guitarist Abner Badua of Hammurabi, and bassist Kenneth Fajardo, including some friends from his local church. On April 1, 2020, Liwanag first aired on 103.1 MOR Baguio! Dayta Ah!. JCʼs latest single Mahalaga was released on January 14, 2022, a collaboration with United Christian Artists of the Philippines (UCAP). His musical influences are Hozier, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Bon Iver, Rivers & Robots, and Hillsong UNITED. He describes his music as a mix of pop, contemporary folk, blues rock, R&B, and electronic.
