Biography
On his first EP “Petit Garçon” released in June 2018, Miel de Montagne reveals himself with electronic productions tinged with pop. He sings the simple life, the one he lives in the countryside with his parents, his love stories, his skateboard and his dog. The lyrics sounded like punchlines that come back like so many refrains. Every situation can hide a great song. And this is what we discovered in 2019 on his first album when Miel de Montagne decyphers his existence without pressure: the one of a 24-year-old young man sometimes a little lost but always with a ray of sunshine in his voice, funny and deep, light and cynical, a party dancer. The result is music that resembles his generation: uninhibited, hybrid, decompartmentalized, with hits like "Pourquoi Pas" and "Permis B Bébé". Miel de Montagne is also accompanied by his imaginary friend Mielo. A character he invented and that he draws everywhere on his covers, his posters and even a tattoo he has on his buttocks. His second LP was made in the slowness and boredom of everyday life. He opens the door to the existential questions that inhabit Miel de Montagne and which he succeeds in formulating with simple and accurate images. Staying true requires more effort that lying and hiding but it's the best way to feel alive. Sometimes melancholic but always full of desire for adventure, this album recalls in turn the ordinary ecstasies of Jirô Taniguchi and the magnetic music of Mac de Marco and Connan Mockasin.
