Biography
Guadi Galego is one of the most relevant artists of the current Galician scene, the result of a musical career that began when she was very young. In 1997 she joined Berrogüetto as vocalist, pianist and bagpiper, and recorded three albums with them. In 2009 he began his solo career with Benzón, an album acclaimed by Galician and Spanish critics, while continuing to participate in other projects. Thus, in 2012 she releases the album aCadaCanto, an intimate project where she works once again with Guillerme Fernández, also accompanied by Xabier Díaz on vocals and Xosé Lois Romero on accordion. In 2014 sees the light her second solo work, Lúas de outubro e agosto, and in 2016, year in which she achieves the Martín Códax Music Award for Best Artist in the category of Songwriter, comes out the third, O mundo está parado. This album travels from the personal to the collective reflection on issues such as identity and coherence, elaborating an enveloping sonority with a pop aroma that reappeared in the EP Bóla de cristal (2018). In 2019 he released Immersion, a musical and linguistic re-reading of his most recent works by the hand of artists such as Iván Ferreiro, Clara Peya, Xabier Díaz or Lisandro Aristimuño. This album earned him the Award for the Promotion of Plurilingual Reality in Spain. After a tour and a year marked by the pandemic, Guadi Galego launches Costuras, 10 songs that travel from worlds associated with his childhood to the hardest yet hopeful present.
