Biography
Delving into a variety of styles, Costa Rican artist and producer J Kire transmits his artistic approaches inspired by a heterogeneity of sources from all around genres through his music. Being self-produced and driven by constant learning, J Kire unobtrusively works on his music from his own meek, home-built studio, providing quite a distinct and unique fashion to his craft. Having developed his musical qualities in different music conservatories as a teenager, he immersed himself into many musical genres, including jazz, rock, and a variety of Latin American genres. Despite being attracted to all genres, he found his massive love for Hip-Hop and its culture at the age of 13, with jazz-combining artists like Nujabes and Madlib, as well as with significant names in the mainstream like JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Drake, and many others. J Kire started exploring the fields of music production during late 2017 at age 18; inspired by prominent figures of the producing world like J Dilla, Kanye West, and DJ Premier, he began exploring his own sound of varied styles. Released in January 20th, 2020, his debut EP “Do Not Play This EP” adapted a sound reminiscent of artists like Ugly God, Pink Guy, and Lil B, with very absurd lyrics, goofy themes, and a handful of meme references, having “Picha Se Mama” act as his breakout song across the Costa Rican music scene.
