Biography
St. Louis-based Welcome Home were formed out of the suburbs in bassist, Kenny Ruiz’s, basement. The rock act started out as friends in a local scene, and since their start in 2014, have solidified their lineup, self-released their debut record—and decided that touring would become their primary lifestyle. While the band loves their hometown and scene, rather than staying solely local, Welcome Home rarely plays their hometown. Instead spends their time touring, and establishing a name for themselves across the country. To maintain a constant and steady pace, Welcome Home’s own Kenny Ruiz books their own tours to keep them on the road. And through touring, Welcome Home has been able to create and continuously grow their family around the country. This family includes friends that have shown their kindness in supporting Welcome Home’s music, and even bands that reciprocate love and support for one another. Leaving their home in the midwest they’ve been fortunate enough to be exposed to music of all backgrounds. This exposure has lead to the growth and constant evolution in their songwriting. This evolution can be seen in the band’s most recent single “Freaking Out”, and further light will be shed in the coming months with more new music on the way.
