Biography
WellBad is back with a huge bang! In their brand-new studio album Bad Habits, these musical game changers playfully combine retro-enamored songwriting with unusual sound compositions, creating their own unique New Blues Sound which has brought them acclaim both in Europe and North America. “This album saved my life and nearly destroyed it at the same time,” singer/songwriter Daniel Welbat says about his fifth studio album. Like many other artists, the pandemic and its lockdowns brought the Hamburg native to his knees, mentally speaking. Isolated from the rest of the world, Welbat took an unfiltered look at what is commonly referred to as “bad habits.” “It hurts like hell,” Welbat says, “but these bad habits, those little everyday sins, ultimately make us who we are – human beings! And that’s a good thing.” Armed with a crate of whiskey and a suitcase full of cigars, the songwriter set off on a musical meditation of sorts. The result was Bad Habits – surely his most personal album to date. To experience the outcome of this transformation live is going to be sensational! Daniel Welbat’s powerful, sonorous voice bobs and weaves between smoky jazz bar and electrifying rock concert in an unbridled fashion. He screams, grunts, hums, whispers, sings and raps – a voice that seems to hold a hundred lives.
