"You get the feeling that this was just the beginning of something big". (Westzeit 01.09.2022) Stina Holmquist's songs take you away to lukewarm summer nights, touching the soul and heart in equal measure. Together with her young band, she develops modern, timeless indie pop music that finds its very own sound in collaboration with producer Alex Sprave (Fil Bo Riva, Steiner & Madlaina, Luke Noa). Raised in the noisy Ruhr area in Germany, Stina Holmquist has Swedish roots. The love of both and at the same time the feeling of never being at home in one place only, establishes an energy that nourishes itself on longing, daydreaming and always discovering something new. The combination is perhaps what leads to the deep emotional depth of Holmquist's songs and touches so many of us. In addition to playing support shows for the German indie bands Giant Rooks and Leoniden, Holmquist also played some festival shows such as the Traumzeit Festival, among others. With her last two singles "In a Dress" and "Asphalt", Stina presents us with a sound that reflects very different influences such as The War on Drugs, Lana Del Rey and Daughter. Both songs were created in collaboration with producer Alex Sprave at Panorama Studios Berlin. Modern pop music that takes us out of our everyday lives and creates space to deal with fears that we all don't want to let go of.
