Biography
Why Mona is a musical love child between Joanna Jones and Unlike Pluto. The duo met in a studio in Hollywood by chance in 2015 and began to experiment together, marrying their unique styles to create a new innovative sound. Realizing that they had stumbled across something special, they joined forces to form the official collaboration "Why Mona" in 2017 and never looked back. Their sonically sleek and sexy world of dream pop combines the old soul sounds of Lana Del Rey and Billie Holiday with modern classic production. While Joanna was pursuing her Broadway career performing in "Hamilton" 8 times a week, Unlike Pluto released over 200 songs of his own, yet the two still found the time to keep the project alive. One of their first releases, a cover of "Wannabe," became one of the first viral songs on Tiktok in 2018 along with "Old Town Road," and since then they have released a number of reimagined classic covers and original music that have left their global listeners wanting more . Their original song "Rabbit Hole" recently landed an international ad campaign with Dell XPS that has spanned over a year and a half. Today, the best friends are primed and ready to take the project to the next level in the music industry. Their best is yet to come, and they can't wait to create it together. contact - whymonawhy@gmail.com
