Mamajuana is the brainchild of Dominican producer, DJ, and composer Eddy González. With their innovative concept of "Tropical Electronica," Mamajuana blends Latin rhythms with electronic music to offer a unique and unforgettable show. Inspired by Afro-Caribbean and contemporary rhythms, Mamajuana released their self-titled debut album under the Sony International label. The record featured hits like "Mamasota" and "Sin Un Beso Suyo," and in just two weeks in the U.S. market, sold over 20,000 copies. Mamajuana has been recognized as Best New Dominican Artist in 2001, nominated for the Univision Premio Lo Nuestro Award in 2002 as Best Tropical Group, and pre-nominated for the Grammy Awards in 2004 as Best Urban Album for their second release, "For Sale."
