Biography

Sonia Noor is a Moroccan singer, songwriter, musician and composer. She has been living and breathing music since her early childhood. Sonia is a self-taught artist, her musical universe is a pure reflection of her own cultural identity: a tasteful blend of eastern (Arabic), deeply rooted in within soul and pop influences. In her home country, Morocco, Sonia completed her artistic path at the Casablanca Music Institute, where she headlined in numerous events, amongst which was the popular Jazzablanca Festival in 2018. Sonia branched out into her career with director Fatym Layachi who casted her as lead in the hit show “Amakyn”. The artist excelled in this role as she showed her abilities to act and sing with her passion for comedy. Sonia Noor believes that music’s power lies in collective strength, diversity, and richness, that comes from different voices and stories across all horizons. That is why she chose to open up to enriching collaborations with fellow artists, such as Asmaa Hamzaoui, the rising star of Moroccan Gnawa, or the famous Moroccan DJ Mr. ID, with whom she also collaborated on his track ‘Mra ou Mermora’, an homage to all the women in our lives. Since September 2017, Sonia Noor partnered up with the Moroccan Live Entertainment Group to promote the launch of her music, through concerts and festivals across the country. The last festival she performed in is Visa For Music 2020, produced on digital platforms.
