Yassin 'Narcy' Alsalman is a polymath. With his infamy being the lead Iraqi hip-hop artist in the Diaspora, Yassin found his stripes in the music scene as ‘The Narcicyst’ and eventually commited to cultural representation across the board as NARCY (Neo-Arab Rebel Called Yassin). He is an MA graduate in Media Studies with a BA in Political Science and Communication Studies. He is revered as a theorist of Diaspora Identity in Hip-Hop Culture, pennings two books "Diatribes of a Dying Tribe" and "Text Messages" under his real name as plume. He is an award winning director, for his work with yasiin bey and canadian supergroup The Hallucination for their banging short film "R.E.D.". His music has been featured in acclaimed show Ramy and Mo, he has scored films for Telfaz 11 and his hit ‘Hamdulillah’ was featured in Fast and Furious 7. His seminal video work lies in his music realm, where he directs, writes and acts in short films around his albums. He is a revered professor at Concordia University, helming the only hip-hop classes in Quebec and recently went viral for his new artist series on Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar.
