Biography
Experimental electronic meets a modern-day 80s indie-pop/rock daydream, Adam Mah is no stranger to creating evocative music. Adam’s diverse scope as an artist, producer, and composer has shaped him into a thought-provoking songwriter. His tracks often examine the notion of perspective through captivating vocals, synthesizers bathed in reverb, and introspective lyrics. Adam’s upcoming debut album, Year of the Dog (due out June 23, 2023), references his Chinese Zodiac and the year 2018, which was full of personal changes. The album explores themes surrounding navigating long-term relationships, nostalgia baiting, and the music industry’s current state. Much of the album touches on long-term relationships, which come in many forms; from celebrating long-term romantic relationships, to coming to terms with dissolving ones. And more specifically, a breakup between bandmates. Adam also references society’s mania for movie and television show reboots, faux vintage aesthetics, and mass-produced Urban Outfitter graphic tees. With appearances from Jordan Lawlor, ROYAL, and RIKII, Year of the Dog is a body of work ready to engage with subjects easier left unaddressed. Adam has toured supporting The Rubens (2019) and Hotel Mira (2020), as well as performing at the Westward Music Festival (2019) and the Kansai Music Conference in Osaka (2020).
