Biography
After the breakup of his debauched rock & roll group Louis XIV in 2009, Jason Hill retreated to the Hollywood Hills studio he bought and outfitted with vintage recording gear to begin working on solo material. Bringing in friends old and new, like drummers Dominic Howard from Muse and Dave Elitch of Mars Volta and bassists Mark Stoermer of the Killers and Nick Fyffe, who had played with Jamiroquai, Hill worked steadily putting together an album based on Aldous Huxley's 1931 novel Brave New World. While doing this Hill also found time to produce and play on the New York Dolls' 2011 album Dancing Backward in High Heels, start a record label (Fancy Animal), work with Macy Gray and Ariel Pink, and re-form Louis XIV. Hill gave his own project the name Vicky Cryer and the results of the years of sessions, the Synthetic Love of Emotional Engineering album, were released on Fancy Animal in 2013. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
