Biography
Hein Simons was a huge child star in Germany in the late '60s and early '70s, appearing in several films and recording dozens of sides and albums under the name Heintje. Born in the Netherlands on August 12, 1955, Simons cut his first single in 1966 at the age of nine and released his first LP by the age of 11. By the time his run ended he had some 40 gold records, a platinum one, and three internationally selling LPs to his name, making him the youngest-ever German self-made millionaire. He slowed his pace as an adult star, reverting to his given name, Hein Simons, and continues to enjoy a large fan base in Europe. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
