Biography

Demekech was born and raised in Skellefteå, a small town in the north of Sweden. She grew up in a loving home with a father from Sweden and a mother adopted from Ethiopia. As a mixed girl Demekech struggled with finding her identity between the two cultures. There was a constant battle of not being white enough or black enough that cultivated a search within her, a search for identity. While continuously being on the move Demekech shares her feelings through her brutally incisive writings and beautiful, unique tone which together tells us her current destination and where she is heading.
