Biography
Melbourne artist Shannen James marks her striking return with new single ‘This Mess’! The song sees Shannen leaning into her lockdown diary, reflecting on the repetitive and isolating life that was, and turning the narrative into a joyous, Spring anthem – an uplifting realisation of the importance of human connection in a past world that was lacking just that. The news of Shannen’s return coincides with her signing to successful booking agency, Select Music – which has seen Shannen busy on the road playing shows such as Wanderer Festival Main Stage (alongside artists such as DMA’s, Jack River, Confidence Man), Unwind In The Vines (alongside Vera Blue, Winston Surfshirt), standout performances at BIGSOUND, plus national tours supporting Slowly Slowly, Thelma Plum, Sycco & more, all off the back of Shannen’s debut sold-out East Coast tour earlier this year. Following the success of previous hits, the aforementioned ‘Arrows’, ‘Superstitious’ which was on high rotation on triple j, and #18 most spun on USA College radio, and her most recent, ‘Breakfast With You’ – which was hugely embraced by international Spotify & Apple playlists, Shannen continues from strength to strength. Tassie fans can catch Shannen play at The Great Escape festival in March 2023 alongside the likes of G Flip and King Stingray, more details here.
