Biography
Aureliano Mendez, a.k.a Panasuyo and Sr. Mendez, is a Latin GRAMMY winner singer-songwriter, musician and producer from Venezuela. His trademark sound is a fusion of his country's traditional music and Caribbean rhythms with rock, pop, reggae and electronica. He released his debut album, Monte y Culebra, under the pseudonymous of Panasuyo in 2006. His first single, Rio Bellisimo, went #1 on Venezuela's radio charts. Shortly after, he joined a talented group of Venezuelan musicians honoring Simon Diaz, the country's most influential flock artist, in the album "Simon Diaz Remixes." After achieving national recognition, Mendez moved to Puerto Rico in 2007 to join Calle 13 on the production of their Residente o Visitante album which earned him two Latin GRAMMY awards for co-producing the Best Urban Music Album and co-writing Pa'l Norte, the Best Urban Song of the Year.
