Biography

Canadian musician Jamie Grant grew up in the small town of Orillia where he discovered his love of music. He started out playing small shows in pubs around rural Ontario. After moving to Toronto he found his voice and his passion for songwriting. His music has been described as the perfect blend of synth and rock, which may be shocking as he started out as a solo folk singer. His lyrics are constructed around his coming of age in the small town where he and his large family has lived for generations. The darkness around his music has been questioned many times but was drawn from the struggle of how and where we spend our time in life. His single “Moment” (Sept 2018) is a thought-provoking look at how making one decision can change an entire life, and the realization to be grateful for the paths you’ve taken. In many songs, he touches on mental illness and the tough decisions one makes to crawl out of dark places.
