Ella Hooper was 13 when she burst onto the Australian music scene – Unearthed by National broadcaster Triple J. Ella scored her first number one with the single ‘Mascara’ on her 17th birthday. At 18, she became the first woman and youngest person to be awarded APRA’s Songwriter of the Year. 
 After releasing three albums with Killing Heidi, Ella embarked on a solo career, traversing alt-country to synth pop. Her forthcoming album, Small Town Temple – written in her hometown of Violet Town, Victoria – has been hailed as a new beginning, showcasing Ella’s deeply personal songwriting. 
 First single ‘Old News’ is a warm, but sharp edged musing on getting back in the game, the bizz, when you’ve been round the block a time or two already.. 
 After a multitude of gold and platinum records and trying her hand - and succeeding at - all kinds of creative incarnations, Ella clearly remains committed to her craft and it’s continued growth.
