Biography
Award-winning, acoustic trio VERONNEAU take the listener around the globe, blending samba, French chanson, bossa nova and swing into a genre-defying musical feast. With two critically acclaimed and popular CD's - both climbing into the top 10 of the US Jazz and World music charts - French Canadian vocalist Lynn Véronneau, and British guitarist Ken Avis have been building an ever-growing international fan-base. For VERONNEAU, and their fans, it’s all about the song. Based in the Washington DC area, VERONNEAU tour in Europe and North America and have played many prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center, as well as being regulars at the legendary Blues Alley, and DC Jazz Festival. In the UK the band have appeared multiple times performing live and interviewing on BBC radio, and in Canada on CBC. Their new album release "Love and Surrender" takes a deep look at love as a human condition - a mature reflection exploring infatuation, passion, loss, betrayal, loneliness and family. The album features long-time Veronneau collaborators British violinist Dave Kline, and David Rosenblatt, plus guest musicians from Senegal, Nigeria, the UK, Brazil and the US. Lynn Véronneau’s soaring vocals are sung in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. It swings, it grooves, it finds the quiet between the notes, and echoes the pulse of the human heart. www.VeronneauMusic.com
