Biography

Steve was born in Swansea, UK and after learning the ropes in local rock bands he shot to prominence in the mid 1990's as Jesus in the West End revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, for which he won The Variety Club Best Newcomer award. Signing to Columbia Records soon after, he released and toured a solo album, All I Am before forming The Storys, a harmony-laded country-rock band with 3 other Swansea singer-songwriters. They signed to Warner Records, made 3 albums and travelled the globe with the great and the good, opening for Elton, Celine, Joe Cocker and Santana - winning amazing reviews, fans and song writing awards along the way. Five very enjoyable years as a singer and co-writer with Deep Purple founder Jon Lord followed, as well as Steve having his songs recorded by many artists including Meatloaf, Slash of Guns N' Roses and Sir Cliff Richard. Steve has also written and recorded two albums with electronica proggers, ChimpanA While the world ground to a halt during the pandemic, Steve's old Storys bandmate Andy Collins and Liverpudlian songwriter Pete Riley got together every week on Zoom to try and make sense of it all.
