Biography

Dissonation is a new Nashville based progressive/deathcore project that originated in late 2021. 
 The band sprouted from the minds of Taylor Pace (guitar/vocals) and James Hunt (drums/vocals), later joined by Nic Townsend (guitar/piano) and Adam Conran (guitar). They share an immense appreciation for progressive, rhythmically punishing metal bands like Meshuggah, the Contortionist, Knocked Loose, Sworn In, The Faceless, Car Bomb, Lorna Shore and other modern heavy acts. 
 Thematically, Dissonation explores ideas of dystopia, mental anguish, and psychological corruption.

 The band released their debut single 'Demon Eyes' on April 15th, 2022. Their sound features pounding drop tuned rhythms, whiplash inducing time changes, and harrowing dissonance. The track jerks the listener between spacious, crushing breakdowns, and fierce energetic passages. Any opportunity to mentally breathe is interrupted with an aural sledge hammer. 
 Their second single, Parasocial Intoxication, was released October 14th, 2022 along side two alternate versions: an instrumental version and a stripped piano version. The track was engineered by Connor Mowery in Nashville, TN studios, including historic Columbia Studio A. Dissonation constantly jolt listeners with disorienting angular riffs, crushing breakdowns, fierce energetic passages, and a monstrous vocal feature from Nick Cross of Divisive before they fade into an epic orchestration of piano, horns, and more.
