Biography
Formed in 2015, Speech Patterns made a ripple through the post-hardcore scene in mid-2016 with the release of their debut single, “Numb.” Combining nostalgic lead-heavy post-hardcore with the refreshing flare of modern production, the band put their musicianship on display right out of the gate. Their follow up single “Déjà Vu” conveyed a completely different side of the band, exposing the versatility of lead vocalist Eric Suarez. Bassist Brandon Sandoval and drummer Daniel Potenza bring plenty to the table as well, providing tasteful support to each song as needed, and pushing themselves to the limit when called for. The band considers themselves somewhere between post-hardcore and alternative rock, but it’s clear that there’s much more under the hood than meets the eye. With the release of their debut EP “Without a Sound” in the summer of 2017, Speech Patterns only further proved that they’re not content with sticking to one sound. Pulsing electronics, “djent” riffs, and anthemic ballads all find their way onto this short and sweet seven-track offering. After being met with overwhelming public reception, one can all but wonder what Speech Patterns will offer next. More to come in 2020.
