Biography
Track Starr, born to Jamaican & Nigerian Parents developed a passion for music at a young age, teaching himself to play the piano and saxophone by age 9. He started writing rap songs at 13, but struggled to record them due to his Christian upbringing. In his teens, he moved to New York City where he began making beats himself after difficulty finding producers for his songs. Despite his passion for music, Track Starr initially chose to pursue a more traditional path, graduating high school at 15 and attending college for communications and psychology. After college, he worked a 9-5 job in technical support while continuing to develop his skills as a producer and songwriter. In 2016, he quit his job to pursue music full-time and quickly made a name for himself in the dancehall community. He had his breakthrough as an international producer in 2017 with the song "Waking Trophy" he produced for Hoodcelebrityy. This charted on the billboard charts and opened doors for him to work with diamond selling artist shaggy, Columbia star Karol G and got a gold plaque with the record “Tu Pum Pum”. He has since worked with Konshens, Spice, Stefflon Don, Sizzla, Stylo G, Dovey Magnum, Kemar Highcon, Bounty Killa and dominated as a producer. During the pandemic, Track Starr decided to focus on being an artist again, drawing on his skills developed over the years to focus on Afrobeat music. In 2022, he released his first official single "OLEKU".
