Biography

Based out of Birmingham, Alabama, The Essentialists bring a fresh, unique indie rock sound to the modern day music scene. While in high school, frontman (Anderson Gore) and drummer (Alex Hoogland) formed the band in 2016 while planning to play covers. After discovering his talent for songwriting, Gore recruited lead guitarist (August Baumann) and bassist (Cole Snyder) with the intent to release original music as a group. Four months later, in March 2017, The Essentialists popularity grew rapidly with the release of their first single "Shake", which was followed by their second single "Magnolia".
