I am sitting here in the sunshine
The sea here is as blue as the sky
Couldn't ask for anything more
The novelty of sun and sea
Won't wear off before I'm gone
But those who never get to leave
There's a real life behind the sun
Some may say they'd love to be out there
Free as a bird
But birds are often kept inside a cage
And without their wings
There's no way for you to see the world
It's a long hard life as freedom slaves
Yesterday I saw a man
He turned away toward his family
They were living rough beside the road
The novelty of the sun and sea
