Biography

Swiss producer, DJ and live act AVEM presents a genre-bending take on electronic music. Born in Basel to parents with Spanish and French descent, Boris’ focus on percussion stems all the way back to playing the drums in his adolescence. His compositions have articulated a steady evolution; from driven synthesizer classics, to eerie field recordings all the way to personal vocal performances. Starting in 2017 with Nuages EP [HMLEP001] on Vienna-based imprint Heimlich Musik, AVEM would go on to release eight more EPs and numerous singles in the following years, featuring collaborations and remixes with Ninze, O/Y, Mira & Chris Schwarzwalder, Soukie & Windish, Schlepp Geist and his LOKD label-buddies Dandara and Arutani. While a large part AVEM's discography is present on streaming services, many unreleased cuts can be found in performance recordings only. 2021 had the producer releasing a continuous album for label Laut & Luise (Cologne), contributing to their Montagssorbet series.
