Biography

Arigato, Hato! is a musical project that was founded by cat cortes in 2008. The band line-up included Mikey Abola (bass), Joe Fontanilla (guitars), Ayon Sanchez (MPC/percussion) and Martin Tensuan (keys). Due to cat's love of animals, and because her first name being an animal — she insisted the rest of the band come up with animal nicknames. Mikey is Bee Bear. Joe is Anteater. Ayon is Koala. Martin is Panda. The band went on hiatus just after the launch of their EP, Heartsongs for Humans (2012) when cat relocated to Singapore and Ayon pursued further studies abroad. Arigato, Hato! found themselves in the consciousness of young Filipinos once again, when they were featured in the independent horror film, Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23-B, directed by Prime Cruz and released in 2016.
