Utkarsh Ambudkar (born December 8, 1983) is an American actor, singer, rapper, and song writer. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and now resides in Los Angeles, CA. He is a former VJ for MTV Desi. His breakout role was in the comedy film Pitch Perfect as the character Donald. He has starred in television shows such as The Mindy Project, The Muppets, The Simpson's, and ShowTime's White Famous. Utkarsh originated the role of Aaron Burr in the developmental readings of Hamilton and in 2019 starred in the Broadway hit, 'Freestyle Love Supreme' with longtime friend and music collaborator, Lin-Manual Miranda. He co-starred alongside Brie Larson in the feature film Basmati Blues and also co-stars in the film BlindSpotting with fellow music collaborators Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal. Other recents films include Brittney Runs a Marathon on Amazon, Free Guy with co-star Ryan Reynolds, and Disney's new live action remake of Mulan. Utkarsh has two new EP's coming out in December, and is already working on his next studio album.
