Biography
Bernice (Toronto Canada) is the project of musician and songwriter Robin Dann and her longtime collaborators Thom Gill (keyboards), Philippe Melanson (e-percussion and drums), Daniel Fortin (bass) and Felicity Williams (voice). "Bernice sneak a heartfelt endorsement of a radical love ethic into [Infinite Love] that scans like a bedroom-pop sex jam. But when Dann sings about a love that feels “amazing,” she’s not merely addressing earthly bodies—it’s something cosmic, all-encompassing, a connection felt on the atomic level. - Pitchfork The band has released four full-length albums and an EP. Their sophomore album, Puff: In the air without a shape (Arts & Crafts) was longlisted for the Polaris Prize, and the New York Times called it “A monument to ephemerality”. Eau De Bonjourno, released in 2021 with Telephone Explosion Records (North America) and Figureight Records (UK), debuted at #10 on the National Top 50 albums in Canada. Most recently, LP Cruisin' was released April 28, 2023 with TER. Eau de Bonjourno is unusually mesmerizing with its movements, connected by the natural spirit of chaos. - Pitchfork Most of Eau de Bonjourno sounds like someone dropped a beautiful crystal, and rather than breaking not into violent shards, it drifted off as glistening bubbles. - Stereo Gum Bernice continue to piece together and encapsulate gorgeously immersive and magical worlds with hidden gems, like the joys of life, just waiting to be found - Exclaim
