Math has only right and wrong? Before you come up with the correct answer, error often occurs in the process of calculation. Hong Kong indie band Bad Math brings different elements together - rather than creating broken maths, they invent new equations. Bad Math members have different musical backgrounds and preferences, and are deeply influenced by Jazz, Indie, Electronica, Hip Hop and more. But Japanese bands D.A.N., cero and Tempalay are the common ground of the band members. In October 2019, the band released their first EP "Mad Bath", creating a unique sound merging upbeat rhythm with a bitter atmosphere. The band dropped their first full album "Missing Narrative" in June 2021 with a physical solid-silver vinyl released at the end of the year in a limited edition of 300 copies. An extra layer of dreaminess is added to the band's signature upbeat rhythms and bitter vibes. The groovy and dancy drumbeats, crystal clear guitar riffs, weightless and floaty synth sounds; each distinct element is blended together by Yuki's singing that is insouciant and helpless at the same time - sometimes dreamy, sometimes illusory, sometimes calming and sometimes with clarity. This math equation is complicated, and yet the answer is obvious.
