Biography

Pure Obsessions & Red Nights was formed by singer, songwriter, writer and producer Philippe Deschemin. Influenced by The Cure, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative..., Deschemin pushes the limits juggling with Dark Wave, Synthpop, Glam, Gothic and Industrial Rock to create a unique sound, and creates a deep narrative universe through the character of Mr Strangler. After 2 albums, a covers'n remixes compilation & the publication of Deschemin’s 1st Syfy novel, Contoyen, the band released the unanimously acclaimed Mr Strangler Trilogy - The rise and fall of a serial killer. A Murder Rock Trilogy: ► The Ogre Inside, Act I, (2017) / The Darkest of Human Desires, Act II (2019) / No Monsters in God's Eyes, Act III, (2020). In 2020, RRHOFamer & Grammy Award winner Chris Vrenna mixed We Are the Stranglings (2021), a concept album about a community worshiping the late Mr Strangler. In 2022, Deschemin brought back Mr Strangler for a new synth driven Trilogy: The Night Trilogy . 1st act: Let Your Obsessions Run Wild (2022) / 2nd act: Heirs of the Red Nights ( 2023) / 3rd act TBA (2024). Pure Obsessions & Red Nights shared stages with legendary acts (Hanoi Rocks, Christian Death...), bands like CKY, Murderdolls, Front Line Assembly, OOMPH!... always bringing intense shows & was remixed by Mr.Kitty, Sidewalks and Skeletons, Combichrist, Stabbing Westward, The Anix, Priest, The Algorithm...
