Biography
Konola is, without a doubt, one of the most exciting artists in the UK Christian Rap scene. The 23-year-old, born and raised in Tottenham, London, has been influential in pioneering the UK’s burgeoning Gospel Drill scene. But he won’t allow himself to be pigeonholed by the genre. In fact, he even pushes back against the “rapper” label, preferring to describe himself as an “evangelist, not a rapper.” His debut mixtape ‘Glory To God’ was released in August 2019 via SoundCloud. That was followed by ‘Christian Walk’ in June 2020 - which featured artists such as Zelijah Tishbite, Likemikes and R-Scar. 2021 saw Konola release a string of successful singles including; Lukewarm, Battling, Wife, and Come Outside (a collaboration with Limoblaze). Konola has received support and praise from countless Christian music platforms including; Rapzilla, Premier Gospel, Gospel Hydration, BLSSD Music, CHHTalk, and MXRCY. In March, he was named as part of Rapzilla’s ‘2021 Freshmen Class’ - making him the first British artist to receive this honour in five years. He has also released music with Pressplay Media, recorded a freestyle for Joey Clipstar’s ‘Hardest Bars’ (Link Up TV), and been invited to collaborate with P110 for a future ‘Hood’s Hottest’ freestyle and single release.
