Come and put your feet under the table Tell me all about your day Don't mind the dog howlin' at the window At the sirens, as they go rushing by Someone is some sort of panic Their house has caught an ugly flame The chickens have all escaped It's burning hotter than a candle wick Trying to say what's running through my marathon mind Sometimes it feels like I'm flyin' Through the clouds way up high, overhead Like a sandpiper bird, flying off of the ledge Sometimes it's hard to know what to do Whether to use a fork or a spoon Well, I'll tell you something of the truth I was shooting for the stars But, I think I hit the moon Let the flame burn bright Higher up in the sky The embers will fly away If they need to separate from the coal Let the walls come down Let it all burn to the ground If that's the way it needs to go Let the ash in the gardens grow
