Biography
AccroGeist is the name of an exciting new, electronic Manchester-based Synth Pop band. Pascal Carton (synth/vocals) and Mike Waring (synth/vocals) together create music that occupies a void; a sound somewhere between early 80s synth pop and the lighter elements of the EBM goth scene and Futurepop: caught between the decades, difficult to categorise, definitely evocative. The band’s debut EP “Something to Repair Me” achieves a satisfying blend of pop and gothic. Cold icy atmospheres give way to uplifting choruses; a journey through unchartered territories to the occasional echo from the past. The band turned to legendary producer Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Erasure) for his exceptional work spanning decades of groundbreaking electronic music. Pascal says, “It was a no-brainer. One look at his CV sealed the deal. He’s worked with artists that massively influence our own music and we have a mutual love of catchy synth hooks and a sackful of euphoria!!” AccroGeist are developing a passionate and excitable fanbase on the back of the buzz generated by their early demos. 'Celestial Storm' leads the way on their spiky yet inviting 4 track debut EP. [Additional production and mix on tracks 1,2 and 4 by Stephen Hague]
