Biography

The musical journey for the four siblings known as The Young Escape started early in life. As teens and pre-teens growing up in Riverside, CA, the brothers and sisters booked their own tours up and down the California coast.   Ryan Johns on lead guitar, McKenna Johns on lead vocals, Kyrsten Johns on bass, and Luke Johns on drums, went on to make their first recordings while still teens. The results were number one radio hits like the anthem “Good Life” and the declaration “Love Me Like You” and touring across the country, including two tours with Crowder.   The beginning of 2020 brought the release of new music and touring to a halt for The Young Escape. With multiple barriers in their way, the four resolved to write every day and record and rehearse in preparation for a new era of The Young Escape.   That dedication and effort resulted in songs that speak from an even deeper place, live performances that resonate with heart, joy, and energy, and even the development of youngest brother Luke as a producer for not only The Young Escape but an in-demand producer for other artists as well.   This new era is even more sharply focused on pointing the spotlight toward the One who brings life, the One who calls us to escape from whatever is holding us down and to find the child within us born to follow Him.
