Biography

FRAN RI is a Chilean singer, actress and composer. For more than 7 years, she has been the frontwoman of the band Newen Afrobeat, always standing out with her strength, charisma and versatility on stage. Fran performed with the band at important national and international events and festivals such as: Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), Felabration (Nigeria), Reggae on the River (USA), WOMEX (I. Canarias), Africa Hey (U.K), Fusion Festival (Germany), Lolapallooza (Chile), among others. In 2017, she founded the "Madam & Samurai Groove" project, participating as the composer, face and female voice of the quintet, culminating in the release of a self-titled LP in 2020. The LP was created collectively and inspired by Afro-American music, fusing neo soul, hip-hop, jazz and funk. After a three-year break, Fran decided to take a leap and debut as a solo act through her first EP entitled "Ri-tmo". On January 26, "Viaje ligero" was released, the first preview of this EP and today together with Nekki he arrives with "Ritmo". Musical production by the outstanding Mirko Polic recharged with danceable Afropop and which is now available on various music platforms
