Biography
Kaizo Slumber is a rave and hardcore music project which started in late 2020 by Libyan-German electronic musician, pseudonymously known as Kaizo Ziad and previously known as Acetantina. The project was born out of a love for all styles of hardcore electronic dance music, whether it's old school, new school; whether it was the melodiousness of happy hardcore or the blistering and uncompromising sound of gabber. Above all else, the project is a reaction against the predominantly über-ironic nature of internet music scenes and styles; choosing to fully embrace the idealism of '90s and early 2000s retro-futuristic aesthetics, with an appreciation for the pseudo-realistic computer generated visuals of the era. Throughout 2021, 4 EPs were released in the 'Kaizo Demos' series, each EP containing 5 tracks showcasing the wide array of musical influences that the project takes on: from lush ambient techno and atmospheric jungle/drum 'n' bass, to blazing fast hardcore and gabber, sometimes even combining the two wildly differing ends of the spectrum. Ultimately, Kaizo Slumber seeks to embrace and reintroduce the colour and fun of old-school EDM and capture the enthusiasm and spirit of the old internet and video game culture, whilst still providing a harsh and fast edge to the music.
