Biography

Rap Against Dictatorship or R.A.D. was founded in 2017 by a group of rappers who shared interests in social, political and all related issues. Liberate P was the leader who started to invite other founders in his circle of Thai rappers friends, including Jacoboi, E.T. and HOCKHACKER The song “Prathet Ku Mee” (Which is My Country) was the first work of our group. This project was discussed among other rappers who are interested in Thailand’s political problem under the power of National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO). Due to its relatable topic, our group grew bigger. Skilled rappers such as G-Bear, K.AGLET, NLHz, Dif Kids, protozua and two anonymous rappers joined our group. The song “Prathet Ku Mee” (Which is My Country) was released on streaming platforms on 14 October 2018 and was received by listeners of rap genre. The music video was released on 23 October. Three days later, it was covered by the mass media. R.A.D. was put under a heavy surveillance by government officials. Police and the government released statements to surveil movement of the group and that is the day when Thai society got to know the group, R.A.D. In 2020, 3 members were prosecuted for performing in a political protest. R.A.D. then released their single "Reform" featuring many other rappers, like 3Bone, Zo9, and NUMBA9. Shortly after, the music video was banned in Thailand by the government.
