Biography

Up and coming r&b/soul and blues artist, Sydney Jackson, puts a new age spin on 70's sound. From the ages of 3-9 Sydney danced in the preprofessional program at the Dance Institute of Washington. She soon realized her passion for music and began singing/ writing her own songs as a form of therapy. Sydney taught herself chords on the piano and guitar, and her love for creating continued to blossom. Sydney involved herself in music inside and outside of school. She joined the Urban Nation Hip Hop Choir at 11 and continued to dance. At the age of 14, Sydney became the CEO of Saje Alex LLC, and a writing and publisher member of ASCAP. For her sophomore year of high school, Sydney auditioned and was accepted to the internationally acclaimed, Duke Ellington School Of the Arts. There, she majored as a vocalist. In Sydney and her mother moved from Washington DC to Los Angeles California where she graduated high school at 16, and started building her entertainment company (Saje Alex LLC). Sydney speaks openly about losing multiple family members to cancer and dealing with major mental health issues. She raises awareness in her music where she writes about depression and suicide in her new release "Funk" and continues to celebrate life and recovery in "The Music Saves Me." Her lyrics are authentic and her soulful sound keeps her audience gravitating towards her. Stay tuned for Sydney’s new ep “Music Therapy” coming June 19th.
