Biography

Tung in Cheek are a 4-man, Post-Indie Rock band with members split between the north and south side of Dublin. Members consist of Andy Burke on vocals and rhythm guitar, Eoin O'Shea on lead guitar, Gavin Dunne on bass, and Chris Brady on drums. The band have invariably created a sustainable and unique presence - an upbeat post-pop bass colliding with psychedelic guitar effects. They have implemented their own influences to reinforce this sound and rely upon artists such as The Stone Roses, Mac Demarco, Dope Lemon, and Outkast to further their protruding indie aura. In 2020 “Command Z” was released, having been produced by Dan Doherty of Darklands Recording Studio who worked with Fontaines DC for their early releases. Their latest singles “Ragbag Púca” (2022) and “Psychonaut” (2021) were produced at The Clinic Recording Studios by David Anthony Curley who has worked with other notable Irish artists including Sorcha Richardson, Gemma Dunleavy and Royal Yellow. Tung in Cheek’s music has gained significant traction on platforms such as Spotify and YouTube with notable recent reviews and features on several prominent Irish media platforms including Nialler9, Newstalk, Hot Press, and 98FM. As of May 19th 2023, Tung in Cheek have released their debut EP 'Knockoffs & Dummies'. This 5-track body of work presents the bands most accomplished material yet.
