Biography
Defined by The Line Of Best Fit as the “Spanish power-pop wunderkind”, Ramirez Exposure’s sunshine-pop is influenced by The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Marc Jonson, George Harrison, Big Star, XTC, Bob Welch, Jon Brion, R.E.M. and a long etcetera. His sophomore album "Young Is the New Old" was released in 2017 to critical acclaim. Produced by Ken Stringfellow (The Posies) and cult American songwriter Marc Jonson it features collaborations by Television's Richard Lloyd and Brian Young (The Jesus and Mary Chain, Fountains Of Wayne). Live, he has performed at festivals such as FIB Benicàssim, Monkey Week or SinSal and toured with international acts such as Nada Surf, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Jacco Gardner or Luna. An official showcasing artist at SXSW 2017, Chicago's WBEZ included him amongst the festival's highlights: “Ramirez Exposure brought an unexpected intensity and a riveting charisma to the jangly power-pop of his 2015 album "Book of Youth" and the forthcoming "Young is the New Old". [...] he elevated sounds that could have been overly genteel or so inward-looking as to be solipsistic into something everyone could celebrate.” In May 2018 Ramirez Exposure will embark on a unique Spanish tour accompanied by Television's Richard Lloyd and Marc Jonson. May will also see the release of new single "Dysfuncional Girl", produced by Marc Jonson, mixed by Frank Maston (Maston, Jacco Gardner) and featuring Skylar Gudasz (Big Star Third Band, Hiss Golden Messenger).
