Biography

Born Monty Faulkner in Raleigh, North Carolina, Tigo B is a rapper and entrepreneur whose hit tracks include “Where You Come From” ft. DJ Luke Nasty and “69”, both featuring Ricco Barrino. Tigo discovered his gift at 20 years old during an impromptu studio session when friends encouraged him to get on the mic. Since then, he has spent years honing his craft and developing as a well round artist, releasing: Return of the Artist (2013), Rise: A Gemini Story (2014), The Preylude EP (2015), Playa Trap (2016) and Better of Both Worlds (2019). His projects thus far, give us a peak into the array of music he was exposed to growing up. He shares that, “[His] pops in particular literally listened to EVERYTHING. I’m talking from soca to reggae to classical to R&B” and despite the listeners ability to hear additional influences, he adds laughingly that “everything but rock and country were played in my house.” Tigo B is a polymath of voices who draws inspiration from his Sierra Leone heritage, his upbringing in North Carolina and pop culture. Tigo joined forces with Grammy Nominated Recording Artist B.o.B as an opening act for his “Better Than Drugs Tour”. “It was a blessing being able to get the opportunity to tour with B.o.B as I was able to get tips and pointers from him and the crowds were CRAZY”! Tigo is gearing up for a huge 2023 and release new music with a sound that will bring a breath of fresh air to the industry.
