Biography

David Fleming is an American composer who has written music for film and television including most recently, The Last Of Us for HBO and The Night Logan Woke Up, a new miniseries written and directed by Xavier Dolan. David started his career moonlighting in New York ad houses, creating music for ringtones and liquor commercials.  After winning BMI's Pete Carpenter Fellowship, he relocated to Los Angeles and soon began contributing music to major films including Divergent and the Transformers series.   In 2017 David composed the score for the BBC's internationally acclaimed Blue Planet II alongside Hans Zimmer, which marked the start of a collaborative relationship with the Academy Award-winning composer, encompassing scores for films such as Disney’s The Lion King (2019), Dune (2021) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022).  Through his soundtrack work, David has also collaborated with popular recording artists such as Elton John, Lady Gaga, Pharrell Williams and Beyoncé, with whom he worked on the Grammy-nominated song Spirit, from her album The Lion King: The Gift David is currently composing the score for the Bron Studios western National Anthem as well as the fantasy film Damsel for Netflix, both slated for release in 2023.
