Biography
New York-based singer-songwriter Jak Lizard brings new life to old-school styles with his striking vocal range and a refined lyricism that conveys a wisdom beyond his 26 years. Jak incorporates live instrumentation into his music that demonstrates a multifaceted style, melding jazz, hip-hop, and soul influences which include D’Angelo, Amy Winehouse, Bob Dylan, and more. "I’m trying to be a support system for people and let them know that they're loved," Jak says. "I want to inject a little hope into the world." Jak jokes that he's a “Soul and R&B Mr. Rogers," attributed to his wholesome messages and memorable melodies. But there's a bit of realism in that playful tagline: Jak hopes that his uplifting music could translate to a family-friendly TV program that takes his hopefulness to an even bigger level than his music. As his fan base continues to grow, he's hoping his inspiring tunes will impact an audience of young and old fans, providing, as he puts it, "a little slice of positivity for the day."
