Biography
Plastic Bertrand has sold over 20 million albums throughout the world and is one of the rare French language singers with a worldwide audience. He has toured all of Europe and the United States where his is one of the rare French speaking artists to appear in the billboard chart. Plastic was born in Brussels in 1954 of a French father and a Ukrainian mother. He is a drummer, musician, singer, songwriter, publisher, producer, television presenter and has even been seen acting. His songs are performed by major American bands such as Sonic Youth, The Presidents of The United States, Leyla Kaye (Prince) or Red Hot Chili Peppers, and have been chosen as soundtracks in "The Wolf of Wall Street", "Three Kings" and "Me Myself and I". Quite uniquely! Both COCA COLA Asia and PEPSI COLA America chose his world famous 1977 hit "Ca plane pour moi" for their advertising campaigns. His career has been rewarded worldwide: 15 gold records, 5 platinum records, Billboard Award (USA), Grand prix de l’Académie Française (France), Prix Sabam (Belgium), Rolls Royce Cup (Italy), Grand Prix du Midem and Who’s who of the year. His latest album "L'expérience humaine" and its alter lingo English version "The Human Experience" along with recent unplugged and electro versions of "Tout petit la planète" have been unanimously acclaimed by fans, critics and medias who all look forward to sharing artistic wonders with this unique talent who will continue to amaze us in the years to come.
