Biography
For two decades globe-trotting Aussie troubadour Carus Thompson has toured the world alongside The John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson & Pete Murray. He’s sold over 30,000 albums along the way and been called “a treasure in the Australian musical landscape” (The Dwarf). Thompson has just released his new single “Young Mother”, the second cut from his forthcoming 8th studio album. The song is a questioning of our contemporary relationship with authority and a lament for kindness lost. It was inspired by the story of Ballarat woman Zoe Buhler, who in 2020 was arrested and handcuffed at home in front of her children for ‘incitement’. She was pregnant at the time. “Young Mother” is out now.
